Focus on you and the world around you

Even on a rainy day, there is beauty in nature. Slow down and look around you, take in what you see. I cycled down an urban road and there was a beautiful flower growing near the gutter. They are called garden escapees...

It's likely a bird took the seed from a plant in a garden and dropped it there or perhaps the wind took it there...

We also spend too much time focusing on what others do - people we know and people we follow on social media. We feel envy, jealousy, we feel sorry for ourselves...

Take a deep breath, put the phone away, stop thinking of others and ask yourself: What do I really want? What do I need? What have I achieved that I could be proud of?

Ask the internal critic to shut up while you find your answers. If you cannot find the answers, make a mental note (or written in your diary or journal) to investigate later.
